Explosive hits party head's home

KUPANG, East Nusa Tenggara: A Molotov cocktail was thrown at the house of the local chairman of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI Perjuangan) on Sunday.

The incident at Anton E. Haba's residence in Oesapa occurred at 3 a.m., Antara reported on Monday.

His wife said from the home that there was an explosion about two minutes after a motorcycle sped past the house.

"Earlier, there were two visitors who told me to warn Anton not to leave the house because there were people looking for him," she said.

The people who warned her were known to be hostile to PDI Perjuangan, the news agency said.

On Thursday, a Molotov cocktail was thrown at the party's provincial secretariat, which is built of bamboo.

Party secretary Frans Lebu Raya said members were accustomed to acts of terrorization and both incidents were reported to the police.
