Expats renovate Bogor schools

BOGOR: The Menteng Rotary Club Jakarta and expatriate families living in Bogor have helped renew five elementary schools in Cijeruk, Bogor.

"We still need more donations to renovate other schools in Bogor," project coordinator Herdiana Kiehl told The Jakarta Post during the weekend at a ceremony to hand over the keys of the completed buildings to the schools' management.

Kiehl said there were about 1,200 school buildings in Bogor in dilapidated condition. Some schools in the area remained unfurnished, with the students having to study on the floor, she said,
