Ex-wealth auditors reject disbandment

JAKARTA: Several members of the now-defunct Public Servants' Wealth Audit Commission (KPKPN) are challenging a 2003 presidential decree that dissolved it and established the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).

During a press conference on Tuesday, former KPKPN member Petrus Selestinus said the group would file a lawsuit against the government with the State Administrative Court if they were not incorporated into the newer commission.

Under Law No. 30/2004 on the KPK, the KPKPN was to have been merged with the new anticorruption commission.

Meanwhile, the KPK has appointed the University of Indonesia's school of psychology to select former KPKPN members who qualify for a post at the KPK. -- JP
