Ex-Jakarta residents told to convert IDs

The secretary of the Bogor regency administration, Mohamad Dasuki, told ex-Jakarta residents who live in the regency, including those who stay in the suburbs bordering Jakarta such as Cinere, to convert their identity cards.

Dasuki was apparently referring to the reluctance of many former Jakarta residents who moved to fringe areas, especially Bogor, to convert their IDs.

"Cinere residents should not feel inferior to have Bogor identity cards instead of Jakarta IDs," he said.

Dasuki made the appeal on Friday during the opening of a housing and interior design exhibition in Cinere Mall, which was organized by the Megapolitan Group, a developer which developed the mall and the posh Cinere housing complex.

The exhibition, which also features handicraft products from some provinces in the country, including ceramic works and antique furniture, will run until July 24. (arf)
