EVA Air clarifies

Herewith, we would like to further clear up misunderstandings
arising from the article CAL, Eva review schedules in the
Business and Investment section on page 9 of The Jakarta Post,
Jan. 7, 1999. It stated that EVA Airways will drop its flights
from and to Los Angeles on account of financial problems. This
statement has confused our customers.

There are a few points that we would like to clarify:

1. EVA Air has no financial problems. In fact, EVA is projecting
total revenues for 1998 of approximately US$1.32 billion, a
growth of 11 percent compared with 1997 that will produce an
after tax profit for the year of around $1.92 million.

2. EVA Air still operates its Taipei/Los Angeles/Taipei flights
14 times weekly.

3. EVA Air has only stopped the Kaohsiung/Los Angeles/Kaohsiung
service starting Jan. 9, 1999 because of a flight schedule
rearrangement.

We hope this explanation clears up the confusion.
