Environment group formed in Yogya

YOGYAKARTA: Thirty-one environmental nongovernmental
organizations (NGOs) declared on Thursday the formation of the
Yogyakarta Environmental Network.

The group included the Damar Foundation, Kutilang Birdwatching
Club, Rindang Indonesia, Patria Nusantara Foundation and the
Mitra Foundation.

The group said the main focus of their cooperative endeavor
would be to preserve the natural serenity and ecosystem of nearby
mountain areas such as Merapi, Sewu and Menoreh.
