Enough is enough

According to ministers, the amount of money lost to the state
through corruption or whatever else rips off the system is well
over US$20 billion, which means there are a lot of extremely
wealthy people all over this country.

It is widely understood and accepted that corruption is the
biggest factor that causes not only civil unrest and poverty, but
also feeds the radicals with a justification to carry out
terrorist bombings.

The thing is, if it continues at the same rate as it is today,
then the resulting chaos, which is likely to include further
bombings, louder cries for independence, total disregard for
central government and other anarchy-like maneuvers, will
increase as unity cannot be achieved if the leadership is rotten
to the core.

There are many more reasons today to conjure up anarchy,
especially when it is common knowledge that the rot continues to
eat away at the very heart of Indonesia.

Enough is enough so they say, or perhaps you could in this
instance say that the writing is clearly on the wall. If that is
true, I just hope there are enough legislators and ministers in
the corridors of power with sufficient common sense to read the
message and act accordingly.
