English courses for reporters

JAKARTA (JP): The School for International Training (SIT) of the Pelita Harapan foundation will run English language courses for some 180 print and broadcast journalists starting next month.

The English courses, a joint project between the school and the Association of Indonesian Journalists (PWI), are due to start on Jan. 15.

The agreement was signed on Tuesday by SIT director Martha S. Legowo, and Soegyarto, director of PWI's education and training institute.

PWI chairman Tarman Azzam said the project was aimed at improving reporters' mastery of English. (04)
