Ende has new archbishop
KUPANG, East Nusa Tenggara: Abdon Longginus da Cunha was consecrated new archbishop of Ende on Wednesday, replacing Dinatus Janggong.
In the ceremony attended by about 35,000 Catholics in Ende Cathedral, Abdon called for harmonious coexistence among followers of different religions.
"All religious believers in Indonesia should go hand in hand, forgive each other and promote brotherhood," he said while addressing the congregation.
Several Protestant, Hindu, Buddhist and Moslem leaders were on hand.
Catholicism is the dominant religion in Flores. (yac/pan)
