Eleven illegal aliens deported
PROBOLINGGO, East Java: A number of expatriates were found working illegally at the Paiton power plant here, I.W. Daster, head of the Probolinggo manpower office, said yesterday.
Recently, the East Java immigration authorities deported 11 foreigners who were found misusing their "social" visas at the plant.
Seven South Koreans and four Filipinos employed by PT Shinwa Engineering & Co. Ltd. were deported last Monday for working illegally at the electricity plant.
"They were found using social visit visas to work in the company," said Daster.
The Probolinggo government has 206 foreigners legally registered to work. There are 860 companies registered in Probolinggo.
