Electricity society formed

JAKARTA (JP): Several power producers, electricity users and
associations related to the power industry will form an
organization to help the government handle electricity affairs.

Indrajit, an establisher of the organization, told reporters
yesterday that the Indonesian Electricity Society would be
launched during its first national congress on Sept. 3 this year
at state electricity company PLN's headquarters.

"The society's members will include PLN, independent power
producers, the Indonesian Consumers Foundation, electricity
experts and others," Indradjit said after a meeting with Minister
of Mines and Energy Kuntoro Mangkusubroto.

Kuntoro said the government welcomed the formation of the
society as a partner to handle electricity affairs in the
