Electricity museum planned in TMII
The ministry of mines and energy plans to establish a Rp 15 billion (US$7.5 million) electricity museum at the Taman Mini Indonesia Indah complex in East Jakarta.
Six energy-related corporations have given assistance worth $2.25 million to help finance the projects. The six firms are Marubeni Corporation, Mitsubishi Corporation and Sumitomo Corp. of Japan as well as Abdi Bangun Buana, an affiliate of the Asea Brown Boveri, PT Meta Epsi and PT Turba Jurong.
The assistance was handed over during a gala ceremony which was also attended by Minister of Mines and Energy I.B. Sudjana on Tuesday.
"It's our contribution for the younger generation in Indonesia to learn about the country's electricity history," said K. Takimoto, a representative of Sumitomo Corporation.
The project is expected to be completed next April. (09)
