Elderly woman commits suicide

JAKARTA: A 70-year-old woman hanged herself on Monday.

Her body was taken to the Cipto Mangunkusumo morgue at mid- afternoon by her family.

Misen, the victim, lived in Utan Kayu, East Jakarta. It is still not yet clear why the woman, who was discovered by a relative, Turiman, killed herself, said a morgue employee who declined to be identified.

Following a post-mortem examination, Turiman and family members brought the woman home for burial services.--JP
