Elderly man burned alive

BOGOR (JP): Jayadi, a 100-year-old grandfather, died Thursday
night when a fire razed his home in Sukaresmi village, Ciomas,
Bogor.

Jayadi's body was found by Sidik, 55, who together with his
friend Somad, 50, was on a security check in the village. "The
fire burned out before we managed to give assistance to Jayadi,"
Sidik said.

The victim's home, made of woven bamboo, was located a fair
distance from his neighbors, he said. "Jayadi used candles or
kerosene lamps for lighting during the night," he said.

The fire possibly started after a candle dropped to the ground
when Jayadi was sleeping, he said.

Jayadi's body was sent to the Bogor PMI Hospital. (24)
