Eight students detained
JAKARTA (JP): One of nine students arrested for using morphine Saturday has been released following the negative results of her blood and urine tests.
A police lieutenant at the Central Jakarta Police precinct said yesterday the released student, identified only as TD, 21, was a law student at a state university in Jakarta.
TD was one of two female students in the group.
The officer, who asked not to be named, said the other eight students were still being held. "The results of their tests are all positive. They will be further processed."
Seven students are now in detention at the Central Jakarta Police precinct which was yesterday crowded by their relatives and friends.
The other female student is at Pondok Bambu detention house in East Jakarta.
The students were arrested in a raid on a house on Jl. Cempaka Putih Timur, in Central Jakarta. The police seized 15 pinches (about 45 grams) of morphine and a syringe.
The students then were taken to National Police headquarters for blood and urine tests before being detained. (jun)
