Eight police leaders replaced

JAKARTA: Eight police officials were replaced on Monday in a ceremony led by city police chief Insp. Gen. Firman Gani.

Among the eight officials are internal affairs head Sr. Comr. Robert Izzac Sihahaya, chief analyst of the research and development bureau Sr. Comr. Herman Toto, East Jakarta Police chief Sr. Comr. Anang Iskandar and mobile brigade unit head Sr. Comr. Beno Kilapong.

Firman Gani said many of the officers replaced would continue with their studies in order to be promoted.

Former Jakarta Police spokesman Sr. Comr. Tjiptono -- who was recently appointed as Bogor Police chief -- will be replaced by former West Jakarta Police head Sr. Comr. Ketut Yoga Ana.

The headquarters appointed Sr. Comr. Safarudin as the new chief of the West Jakarta Police.

Meanwhile, city police chief of detectives Sr. Comr. Suhardi will be replaced by M. Jaelani. Suhardi has been appointed as chief coordinator at National Police Headquarters. -- Antara
