Eight men steal bus in Bekasi

JAKARTA (JP): Eight men hijacked a bus on Jl. Cut Meutia near Bekasi bus terminal on Tuesday night before it reached the terminal.

Armed with machetes and sickles, the gang boarded the Agung Bhakti bus plying Bekasi-Pulogadung route at 11 p.m. and threatened to kill the driver, identified as Ferry, 24, if he did not alight.

Ferry, a resident of Jl. Pondok Betung, Pondok Aren, in Tangerang, had just stopped at a gas station near the depot to buy gasoline. There were no passengers inside the bus when the robbery took place.

The driver, who was left unhurt, reported the case to the Bekasi Police afterward.
