Eight is enough for Hyundai
SEOUL: Hyundai Motor will provide new eight-cylinder GDI engines for large passenger cars, which have been under joint development with Mitsubishi, to the Japanese automaker.
The new engine is scheduled to be produced from the second half of 1998 for simultaneous mounting to the next generation models of Hyundai's Grandeur and Mitsubishi's Debonaire.
The two companies reached an agreement that entailed the exclusive production by Hyundai which will be conducive to maximizing profitability and productivity.
