With the cooperation of the management of the World Trade Center Mangga Dua, the Egyptian Embassy will organize an exhibition on the Legend of Pharaoh from Oct. 8 to Nov. 6, 2005 in Jakarta, the Egyptian ambassador to Indonesia said on Friday.
"The exhibition reflects a part of the ancient civilization of Egypt. The spirit of Ramadhan makes any occasion extra special and unique. Therefore the organization of the exhibition during Ramadhan will add a cultural dimension to this holy month. It is a good chance to broaden and enrich knowledge about Egypt and its civilization," Ambassador Mohamed E. Taha told The Jakarta Post.
The exhibition will be inaugurated at the World Trade Center Mangga Dua in Jakarta on Saturday evening and will be open to public until Nov. 6, the Egyptian embassy said in a press release sent to the Post on Friday.
The release said the embassy invited 50 Indonesian orphans as special guests for the inauguration ceremony.
The admission fee will be Rp 10,000 (US$1) per person.
Taha said the total amount from the sale of exhibition tickets will be donated to an orphanage.
Besides the exhibition, the embassy is also cooperating with Four Seasons, Gran Melia and Hilton hotels in Jakarta in organizing an Egyptian Food Festival during Ramadhan month.
Taha opened the food festival, which was attended by several ambassadors and public figures, at Four Seasons Hotel on Tuesday.
