Ecstasy factory workers get 14 years

BOGOR: Four defendants involved in the operation of an ecstasy factory were each sentenced to 14 years' imprisonment on Tuesday.

Cibinong District Court judges found the four guilty of involvement in the production of illegal drugs.

"In sentencing the defendants there were no mitigating circumstances nor forgiveness for what they did ... We order the prosecutors to destroy the evidence so that it cannot be misused," presiding judge Edison Muhamad said.

Bangkit Satrio, Bertje Albert Bessie alias Boy, Sutaman alias Tomo and Harwanto alias Harjo were arrested earlier this year during the police raid at the ecstasy factory on Jl. Pangradin, Jasinga in Bogor.

The owners of the factory remain at large. -- JP
