EC to award prizes to journalists
JAKARTA: Journalists worldwide are being asked to submit their articles for consideration for the Lorenzo Natali Prize, the EU Delegation of the European Commission to Indonesia says.
"To qualify, the articles must focus on issues of human rights and/or democracy in the developing world. They must be published in print or online media between Jan. 1, 2004 and Aug. 31 2005," the EC's Delegation office in Jakarta said.
This year, three prizes of 5,000 euros, 2,500 euros amd 1,500 euros -- will be awarded in each of five regions; Europe, Africa, the Middle East, Asia and the Pacific and Latin America and the Caribbean.
The Natali Prize was created in 1992 by the EU to promote quality in journalism.
