Dutch trade minister due here Sunday
Dutch Foreign Trade Minister Gerrit Ybema will arrive in Jakarta on Sunday (Jan 27) as head of a trade mission.
During his five-day stay in Jakarta, the Dutch minister is scheduled to sign an agreement on the avoidance of double taxation and the prevention of tax evasion, according to a press release issued by the Dutch Embassy on Thursday.
Ybema would come as the head of a trade mission to strengthen economic and commercial ties with Indonesia.
The mission would consist of representatives of about 30 companies mainly engaged in the fields of infrastructure, transportation and consultancy services.
On the day of his arrival, Ybema would attend a ceremony to mark the presentation of a UNESCO Heritage Award to the Gedung Arsip (Archive Building) in Jakarta.
The building was restored in 1995 with financial aid from the Dutch business community.
During his visit, Ybema would also meet several Indonesian ministers, including Trade and Industry Minister Rini Soewandi, State Minister for State Companies Laksamana Sukardi, and Finance Minister Boediono.
The Netherlands is one of Indonesia's most important export destinations and a major aid donor. -- Antara
