Dutch Embassy to donate soccer balls

JAKARTA (JP): The Dutch Embassy, through Ambassador Baron Schelto van Heemstra, will donate 500 soccer balls on April 3.

In a press release on Thursday, the embassy said that of the 500 balls, 200 would be presented to the Soccer Association of Indonesia (PSSI). The balls are to be used by PSSI's junior teams.

Two hundred balls will be handed over to South Jakarta Mayor Abdul Mufti, who will see that they are distributed to schools and youth clubs in South Jakarta.

The remaining 100 balls will be given to the non-governmental organization Werkgroup '72 and the Netherlands International School.

The ceremony for the donation also will feature a friendly soccer match between the students of the Netherlands International School and a team made up of street children.

The presentation of the 500 balls and the soccer game will be held at the Netherlands International School at 8:30 a.m. on April 1. (lnt)
