Duel RCTI enters second week contest

JAKARTA: The second week of Duel RCTI, a live-aired mixed martial arts contest, will feature eight fighters on Wednesday evening.

The fighters, who will be paired against each other in four classes in the qualifying stage, come from Batam (Riau province), Garut (West Java), Semarang (Central Java) and Jakarta.

Sponsored by the Indonesian Free Fighting Federation (FOBI), Duel RCTI, is aired live on RCTI every Wednesday at 11:30 p.m. and is a semi-free fighting contest between fighters of different disciplines.

"There will be a series of qualifying matches, then the quarterfinals, semifinals and final," Jessie Aristya, FOBI secretary-general said here on Tuesday.

Such a fighting contest has also been run on TPI but with the fighters in a ring, while Duel RCTI uses an Octagonal cage. --JP
