Head of the Presidential Staff Office (KSP) Dudung Abdurachman has reaffirmed that, to this day, he personally no longer has any issues with Habib Rizieq Shihab.

“Because of that, there is now a lot of talk as if I became KSP, and then the narrative from the President emerged. Well, that is not, not from me,” Dudung said when met at the KSP Office, Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta, on Tuesday.

Previously, Rizieq, through the Islamic Brotherhood Television YouTube channel, alluded to President Prabowo Subianto’s speech about Indonesian citizens (WNI) who call Indonesia dark and should just flee to Yemen.

Rizieq stated that the President’s remarks had been influenced by someone he referred to as the “Billboard General”. This nickname is suspected to be directed at Dudung Abdurachman because he once cracked down on FPI attributes.

Dudung explained that the polemic of removing billboards several years ago was carried out in the context of law enforcement after the Front Pembela Islam (FPI) organisation was dissolved by the government.

He also dismissed the notion that his position as Head of KSP is related to the emergence of various political narratives delivered by President Prabowo Subianto.

Dudung emphasised that he is not behind those issues.

On that occasion, Dudung invited all national figures, including Rizieq, to jointly maintain a conducive atmosphere amid the global situation full of economic and political challenges.

According to him, a cleric should bring coolness, guard his words, and not provoke the public.

Dudung assessed that national stability at this time needs to be maintained together, especially when Indonesia and other countries face the impact of the global situation.

Pancasila Values

He conveyed that the government under President Prabowo’s leadership continues to strive to keep the national condition stable.

Furthermore, Dudung urged the public not to be easily influenced by provocative issues or information that is not necessarily true.

According to him, disruptions to national unity only come from a handful of parties who continue to repeat old narratives.

“I am confident in Pancasila that unites this nation, I am confident that the Indonesian people will remain resilient, will continue to guard so that issues, hoax news that disrupt national stability can be countered,” he added.
