Drugs kill discotheque employee

JAKARTA (JP): A discotheque employee was found dead yesterday on a sofa in her rented house on Jl. Keselamatan Dalam, Krukut district, in West Jakarta. She was believed to have swallowed some Ecstasy pills.

A forensic officer at Cipto Mangunkusumo General Hospital said the death of Fitri, 20, was caused by an overdose of drugs.

"It seems that she swallowed some Ecstasy pills. But more in- depth examinations are needed to find the chemical substance which caused her death," Bambang said yesterday.

Fitri came home early Monday morning and slept on a sofa, he said. "One of her friends woke her up, but she died with her mouth foaming."

Earlier this month, a 26-year-old woman died at a discotheque in West Jakarta. The forensic unit of the Cipto Mangunkusumo General Hospital concluded that the death of Soraya Faradiba was caused by an overdose of drugs. (jun)
