Drug suspect shot dead

TANGERANG (JP): Tangerang police shot dead a drug suspect early on Tuesday in the Perumnas II housing complex in Tangerang as the victim tried to escape arrest.

Tangerang police detective chief Insp. Chandra Sukma Kumara said the suspect, Isliadi, 40, a resident of Sipon village, Cipondoh district, was arrested on June 20 after police found 3.5 kilograms and 37 packets of marijuana in his house.

Isliadi told police that he obtained the drugs from Agam, who lived in Perumnas II housing complex.

The police took Isliadi to the housing complex on Tuesday where he then attempted to escape. He was shot in the back after ignoring warning shoots, Chandra said.(41)
