Drug raiders find condoms

SAMARINDA, East Kalimantan: Police operations aimed at snuffing out drugs in local schools recently discovered students in possession of not only illegal drugs but also contraceptives.

Col. Gunawan Kuswara, the local military chief, said the authorities and parents should also be concerned with the trend towards greater sexual promiscuity among the young.

"This is affecting the morals of the younger generation," Gunawan was quoted by Antara.

He stressed that parents and families should bear the responsibility of monitoring the behavior of their children.

He proposed that the teaching of religion at home be strengthened to reverse the trend towards promiscuity.(emb)
