Drug addict caught in toilet

JAKARTA (JP): An alleged drug addict has been arrested in the
toilet at a shopping mall on Jl. Cokroaminoto in the Menteng area
in Central Jakarta, City Police spokesman Lt. Col. E. Aritonang
said yesterday.

He said a small package of third-grade heroin or putauw, a
spoon, a syringe and a bottle of mineral water had been seized
during Thursday's arrest as evidence.

Aritonang identified the suspect as MS, 24.

"MS was busy in the toilet preparing the putauw to be injected
into her arm when a security officer caught her," he said.

He said the arrest was made following a report from some
visitors to the mall about a woman who acted strangely in the
toilet.

Aritonang said the woman could be jailed for at least a year
for using the narcotics. (cst)
