Drought threats Blora residents

BLORA, Central Java: Thousands hectares of ricefields in seven
subdistricts here suffered from drought, having seen little of no
rainfall in the past several months.

The seven subdistricts are Jati, Randublatung, Blora Kota,
Kedungtuban, Jepon, Jiken, Kunduran and Ngawen.

The drought, some residents say, may destroy the livelihood of
local farmers.

Meanwhile, the drought has also forced residents to line up
until late at night to get clean drinking water because their
wells have also dried up. (wah/prs)
