Driver complains

From Merdeka

Drivers of public transport plying the Grogol-Pluit and Grogol-Kota route, are enraged over the way their vehicle licenses are being withheld by a certain official for no apparent reason. Every day some 30 vehicle licenses are confiscated in this way.

The drivers are told that they have to fetch their licenses the next day against payment of Rp 10,000 - Rp 15,000 fees. We, drivers, do not understand, why this is done by somebody who normally is not doing field work. In this case, an employee of the court is seizing our licenses.

The court employee in question, usually operates around 5 p.m. on Jembatan Dua, after court hours. All transportation heading for Grogol-Pluit and Grogol-Kota is stopped by him. And without giving drivers much chance to ask why their licenses are being confiscated, or, what they have done wrong, the court employee tells us to get our licenses the following morning.

Drivers, who often experience this treatment, are increasingly getting frustrated over the matter. And so are passengers who happen to be traveling on these routes.

Would the authorities do something about this, please? I am only a driver, earning a living from day-to-day to support wife and kids.
