Driver arrested for murder
JAKARTA: After a one-week manhunt, Jakarta Police arrested a driver suspected of killing his employer, a 61-year-old Japanese woman named Senda Michi.
Chief of detectives Sr. Com. Andi Chairuddin announced that the suspect, Ahmad Turmuzi, 25, was arrested in his rented house in Tangerang.
The man allegedly killed the woman with a screwdriver on Sunday last week and stole her 1997 Kijang. He sold the vehicle to a car dealer in Jakarta for Rp 60 million.
Ahmad initially fled to Sukabumi and then Bogor, both in West Java, then to Makassar, South Sulawesi, before returning to his home in Tangerang.-- JP
