Drinking water in restaurants
I have been reading with interest the comments from people in your Speaker's Corner for the past few days.
We all know that water from a faucet in Indonesia is not safe to drink. During a recent trip overseas I noticed that many restaurants have notices to say that the water used in their restaurant is purified. I never see those signs here.
Somebody told me that this is because restaurants here (even expensive ones) just use tap water in their cooking, for making ice, and even in the drinks they serve. Can this possibly be true? Isn't this dangerous for our health? Aren't we entitled to know whether the drinks they serve are safe, and the food is cooked in clean water?
Are there any regulations about this? If so, who is in charge of making sure that these regulations are followed?
