'D&R' photographer injured in attack

JAKARTA (JP): Photographer Bodi Chandra of D&R weekly was badly injured when two men attacked him while attempting to grab his camera gear and mobile phone at the Rawa Bambu bus shelter in South Jakarta yesterday afternoon.

Bodi's superior, Nizar, said last night that the criminals had stabbed the photographer in the chest and that both of Bodi's wrists had been cut while he defended his belongings.

"The two escaped on a motorcycle," Nizar said.

They were not successful in taking anything from their victim.

Bodi was being treated in Cipto Mangunkusumo General Hospital's emergency room as of last night.

The photographer has worked for the popular weekly for two years. (bsr)
