DPR online shows House progress

JAKARTA: The public will now have access to the progress of various bills as they pass through the House of Representatives through a parliamentary website.

The website, www.pansus-dpr-ri.or.id., was launched on Wednesday.

Legislator Yahya Zaini of Golkar said the homepage would provide the public with information on all the House's special committees.

"It is hoped that after following the process of the deliberations, members of the public can provide input to the legislators," Yahya said.

The homepage offers information about the works of all special committees, but so far just consists of information on the election bill and political party bill.

The homepage was set up in cooperation with the House's secretariat and the International Foundation for Elections (IFES).

Apart from the newly-launched website, information about House activities can be accessed through: www.dpr-ri.go.id. -- JP
