DPD office building inaugurated

JAKARTA: People's Consultative Assembly (MPR) speaker Amien Rais inaugurated on Thursday the office building of the Regional Representatives Council (DPD) members.

The four-story building is located next to the House of Representatives building, with a corridor connecting them.

Some spaces of the new building have also be allocated for the offices of the Assembly's staff members, who have to move as their rooms will be occupied by new House members.

All 128 DPD members and 550 House legislators, who were elected in the April 5 polls, will take office on Oct. 1. The two bodies will form the MPR. -- JP
