Dossier completed on 'Tenth Division'
MALANG, East Java: The provincial prosecutors' office here
will soon submit to court the dossier of a group caught holding
illegal military training, Antara reported yesterday.
The group, calling itself the Tenth Division or the
Revolutionary Escort Command, was led by Prawira Negara alias
Romo who claims to be the reincarnation of first Indonesian
president Sukarno.
The group, composed of civilians and four members of the
Indonesian Armed Forces (ABRI), was caught staging a military
training here in September.
Further investigations showed that the group claims to have
knowledge of funds kept by Soekarno in a bank in Switzerland and
is trying to retrieve them.
Anwar Dirham of the prosecutors' office said the dossier
consists of 12 files detailing the offenses of 60 members of the
group, 27 of whom fall under light criminal acts, 28 under
medium, and five under severe criminal acts.
The four members of ABRI will be brought to a military court,
he said.
Dirham said the group's actions could not be considered
subversive.
He said the group's activities were purely criminal in nature,
violating Articles 134, 164 and 169 of the State Penal Code
(KUHP), for defaming the former head of state and setting up a
criminal organization. (swe)
