Dorodjatun gets Berkeley award

BERKELEY, California, United States: The University of California
(UC) at Berkeley awarded here the prestigious Elise and Walter A.
Haas International Award to Coordinating Minister for the Economy
Dorodjatun Kuntjoro-Jakti on Saturday.

The award was made based on his profound impact as a prominent
economist, and adviser to and member of numerous organizations
including the Institute for Economic Policy and Analysis, the
Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the National Committee of
Indonesia.

Dorodjatun, who served as Indonesian ambassador to the United
States from 1997-2000, is an alumni of the university. He
received his M.A. in 1966 and Ph.D. in 1980. He was also a former
chair of the UC Berkeley Club of Indonesia.

The minister was represented by his wife, Emmy Kuntjoro-Jakti,
at the award presentation. -- JP
