Dopod launches new product

JAKARTA: Global PDA phone and smartphone producer, Dopod
International Corp. Pte. Ltd., on Tuesday released a new series
of its PDA phone, the Dopod 818 Pro.

Through local distributor PT SisTech Kharisma, the Taiwan-
based company plans to market its product in Indonesia, after
distributing throughout Singapore early this month. The Dopod
818Pro is being retailed at Rp 6.5 million (US$663).

As Dopod market growth worldwide has reached 60 percent in the
past few months, PT SisTech Kharisma president director John
Kurniawan was optimistic that his distributing company would gain
40 percent of the domestic market for PDA phones by next year. --
