Don't insult chess

In a demo staged by the Women's Alliance for Electricity Concern (APPEL) on Aug. 22, its members distributed leaflets with the words: Eddie Widiono, chairman of Percasi (Association of Corruption Brokers).

The All-Indonesia Chess Association (Percasi) lodges a strong protest against the demonstrators using the name of this organization. To our knowledge, Percasi is the only association of the kind with this acronym.

As an official organization under the National Sports Committee (KONI), we have 33 regional branches all over the country with millions of members. We demand that APPEL announce a correction of the use of our name.

All Percasi members and Indonesian chess players with decades of activities in this game feel that we have been defamed by the action. Weren't there other words for the demo's slogan?
