Djarum, PMS to join national c'ships

SEMARANG (JP): Central Java clubs Djarum Kudus and PMS Solo
will compete in the Interclub National Badminton Championships in
Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan, in February next year.

The Central Java chapter of the Badminton Association of
Indonesia (PBSI) secretary-general Toegimin said on Sunday that
PBSI gave four tickets to the clubs from the province to compete
in the event.

"But until now there are no other clubs which are willing to
compete in a national competition outside Java due to a lack of
finances," he said.

The championships will feature five matches for each club,
comprising men's and women's singles, men's and women's doubles
and mixed doubles.

"We hope Djarum and PMS can achieve good standings in
Banjarmasin," said Toegimin. (har)
