Disturbed sleep

Until about one month ago I lived comfortably and peacefully in a house I have rented for many years. From one day to another, however, everything changed. The peace was gone and even the birds in my garden disappeared.

A construction site next door with caterpillars, cement mixers and stone crushers now operates around-the-clock including Sundays. The unloading of building materials from trucks is usually done between 2 a.m. and 5 a.m. when normal people are used to sleeping. The area has really turned into a battlefield!

I realize that building houses cannot be done silently but there should be limits as to the hours such work can be carried out. I am convinced there is a law in Indonesia regulating these activities which allow other parties to protest if the limits are not being maintained.

I hope a reader can give some guidance with regard to this particular problem.
