Districts still need water

PACITAN, East Java: Rain might have arrived in many parts of the country, but six districts in Pacitan are still suffering from a water shortage resulting from the long dry season.

Antara quoted the regency's spokesman Marsih as saying Tuesday that the local administration had distributed clean water to villagers in Donorejo, Tulakan, Sudimoro, Bandar, Pringkulu and Punung districts.

The residents, however, complained because they have to pay a high price for the distributed water. For instance, they have to pay between Rp 25,000 (US$7) and Rp 35,000 per tank. A tank contains 4,000 liters. (09)
