Distance learning by teleconference

MEDAN, North Sumatra: The Minister of National Education, Abdul Malik Fajar, opened new teleconference facilities at the North Sumatra University (USU) in Medan on Tuesday.

The North Sumatra University received the facilities from the University of South Carolina in the United States.

According to University rector Chairuddin Lubis, before collaborating with the South Caroline University, the university had used teleconference facilities owned by PT Indosat.

A teleconference lecture for all students who had completed their postgraduate program was also demonstrated after the opening ceremony. -- JP
