Disgruntled woman castrates husband

BOGOR (JP): A disgruntled 35-year old woman from Pasir Laja in
Kedunghalang, Bogor, West Java, has castrated her husband, saying
that a disloyal partner like him deserves such punishment.

The woman, identified only as Mrs. El, severed her husband's
penis, identified as Jon, 36, at their house on Saturday night,
but medical staff from the Bogor Red Cross hospital managed to
reattach the organ.

"We have reattached his organ and hope that it will regain
normal sexual functioning," a surgeon said.

Pos Kota reported yesterday that at 10 p.m. on Saturday Mrs.
El asked her husband Jon, an employee of a private company who
just returned home, to go to bed for sex. Jon, apparently unaware
of his wife's plan, readily agreed to the request and took off
his clothes.

The disgruntled mother of two then abruptly grabbed her
husband's penis and cut off it with a kitchen knife she had
prepared prior to Jon's arrival home. Jon cried hysterically upon
seeing that he had been dismembered, attracting anxious neighbors
to the couple's house.

Mrs. El reportedly decided to cut off Jon's penis after she
caught him in the act with another woman in her village.

"It is better to cut it off rather than seeing it `fly
everywhere'," Mrs. El told investigators at the local police
