Disaster on Bogor-Jakarta train
From Sinar Pagi
On Feb. 2, my son, on his way to school, boarded the Bogor- Jakarta train in Depok at noon. The train arrived at the Cawang tunnel at 12:20 p.m. Suddenly, from outside, somebody threw a stone into the train car. My son tried to avoid the stone but it hit his eyes. He was bleeding. Concerned and in a state of panic, fellow passengers rushed him to a hospital.
At the hospital a doctor treated him immediately and he was operated on in the evening. Now we must face the fact that he is blind. I am very sad and I appeal to train passengers to be extremely careful in order to avoid a similar disaster.
I request the attention of the authorities, especially PT Kereta Api Indonesia (the railway company) and PT Jasa Raharja (the insurance company), to settle this matter with the victim. I have not submitted a claim with the two companies because the train ticket was lost when my son was taken to the hospital.
