Disappointed with Nokia

I would like to share my experience as a Nokia cellular phone user. On June 13, my Nokia 3530, which I bought in February of this year at Ambassador Mall, became defective. One of the problems was the keypad did not work. I was very surprised at this turn of events since my Nokia 3550 was quite new, and I rarely use it because I also have another phone, a Nokia 6210.

Due to my tight schedule, on June 19, it was my husband who took my Nokia 3530 to the Nokia Professional Center SBCD, the Nokia service center in the Sudirman area. When the technician checked my Nokia 3530, she found that a part of it had rusted. Furthermore, she told my husband that the repairs would be charged to him, and the cost would depend on the repairs needed. My husband refused to accept this because my Nokia 3530 was still under warranty.

Nevertheless, the technician refused to honor the warranty and still insisted that the repairs were not covered under the guarantee period. She claimed that the defect was caused by my sweat or some other vague reason. Of course, my husband and I were very disappointed because we are fanatical Nokia users, and we were shocked that Nokia would not provide good after-sales service during the guarantee period, which is one year.

In addition, it seems that Nokia's products are shoddy, and it might even be the case that Nokia is selling off secondhand hardware because it is impossible that in four months a new Nokia phone could become defective and rusted. Nokia should be aware that according to Law No.8/1999 on consumer protection, consumers have the right to suitable protection for Nokia's products according to the length of the guarantee.

I hope Nokia will swiftly address this issue.
