Disappointed by developer

From Bisnis Indonesia

The leaflet issued by PT Mega Pasanggrahan Indah in its sale promotion of Cinere Mall says that 48 shops/houses (Ruko) are on sale. These Ruko units are specially and carefully designed for good and convenient home living and business promotion.

Attracted by this ad I decided to buy one unit No. 13 on an installment basis and the value added tax (VAT) was included. I paid the monthly installment regularly and they gave me a receipt for each payment. I paid the last installment in April 1993. However, until now I have not received the VAT invoice.

When I inquired as to when I should sign the transaction document I was told that the document could be signed only after the Letter of Binding Agreement was completed. This is not in compliance with the facilities promised in their leaflet which does not rule such a condition. On top of that the right of ownership of the Ruko has been changed and the function as a home is abolished. Moreover, I could not start running my business because the type of business was also determined by the developer.

I hope that the Indonesian Foundation of the Consumers Institution will look into this matter.
