Disabled persons
We thank you for publishing the article Disabled get double trouble on Dec. 28, 1996 on page 2, which I believe will draw the attention of your readers to the problem of disabled women and the seminar, to be held Jan. 4.
However, there are four points that need correcting:
1. I am not the Executive Director of the Indonesian National Council on Social Welfare, but head of the "One-day Seminar on Women and Disability" committee.
2. The number of disabled in Indonesia is about six million, three million are women, not 500,000.
3. UN ESCAP is promoting the Asian Pacific Decade of Disabled Persons 1993-2002.
4. YPAC stands for Yayasan Pembinaan Anak Cacat.
