Diarrhea kills three children

SALATIGA, Central Java: An outbreak of diarrhea in the city has left three children dead and sent a total of 116 people to hospital for treatment.

A doctor from Salatiga Central Hospital said most of the people treated for diarrhea are children.

Delays in getting medical treatment caused the three deaths, he said.

The city is recurrently attacked by the outbreak of the disease at this time of the year, the peak of the dry season, the doctor said. (har/05)
